Bradstone Biodiversity Garden 2010
Designer Paul Hervey-Brookes (Chris Beardshaw Scholar 2009)
Biodiversity is defined as the variation on life forms within a given ecosystem. This year, the UN has called us all to consider biodiversity in all contexts as part of its International Year of Biodiversity. This garden prompts us to think of our green spaces not only as places to relax and enjoy, but also as multilayered habitats. It mixes sustainable practices with planting and features to increase biodiversity, offering a species-rich habitat for a range of at-risk garden insects and mammals.
Awarded: Silver Medal
