The
Naturally Fashionable Garden (Picture
2)
|
|
This
stylish garden has been inspired by the bold, artistic
movement of the fashion industry. The avant-garde and
pioneering work of the textile designer Sonia Delauney
(1885- 1979) has influenced the garden's layout. The
design combines a defined geometric pattern with natural
elements, creating an exciting composition. The random
nature of fabric fibres when viewed under an electron
microscope is the inspiration behind the stumpery,
through which water flows. Textile patterns influenced
the sinuous layout of the plants, which have been
arranged into well-defined groups. Whilst fashion is in
a continual state of change, the principles of good
design remain constant. |
