A Plant Hunter's Retreat pays tribute to Harry Delaney, RHS
tutor at Reaseheath
College,
who inspired his students to develop this garden celebrating
plant hunters past and present, those intrepid explorers who
travelled far and wide in search of new and exciting
introductions. The garden has been designed as a retreat for
a plant hunter. Many of the plants featured have been
brought back to the UK by plant hunters from varied climatic
and geographical areas of the world, from alpine to wetland
regions and from the Americas, Australasia, Asia and Africa.
The path represents travel and the journeys undertaken by
plant hunters. |
