magnificent tree with flaking bark in shades of grey,
cream, green and brown. It has silvery-blue, rounded
young leaves which give way to long, glaucus,
sickle-shaped adult foliage. It is probably the most
well-known gum in this country as it is often seen in
milder garden, where it is completely hardy except in
abnormally cold winters. |

Eucalyptus (bush form) is a native of Australia, but
nowadays it is popular in European ornamental gardens.
The foliage has an attractive silvery-bluish colour and
a fine, aromatic fragrance which keeps gnats at bay.
Growth is extremely rapid at a rate of more than 50 cm
per year. Eucalyptus requires a sunny position. Keeps
its leaves in winter. Requires firm annual pruning. |

gunnii is a very imposing tree with wonderfully coloured
bark. The evergreen juvenile foliage is rounded and used
in floristry but as the foliage matures it turns sickle
shaped. Richly aromatic foliage that scents the air. |

Gunnii is ideal in a pot on the patio, Clip regularly
for compact silver-blue foliage that will keep bugs and
knats at bay. Strong plants, 60-80cm tall are
supplied in approx 3 litre pots. Gorgeous. If bugs
pester you on summer evenings, when you have barbecues
etc in summer, try dotting a few planters with these in
around your deck or patio. |

| Gunnii
is a large evergreen tree with peeling cream and brown
bark with round, bright glaucous-blue leaves when young,
turning grey-green with age. It produces clusters of
small white flowers. This tree suits most soils and can
be grown as a shrub when pruned back hard annually to
encourage young growth. It will reach a height of 15m
and a spread of 12m after 15-20 years. |
