Manicata - Chile Rhubarb - 3L Pot |
| A
dramatic, architectural plant, with massive, deeply
veined, rounded leaves held on stout, prickly stems.
This majestic plant looks wonderful at the edge of a
large pond or stream where its foliage is reflected in
the water. One of the most spectacular plants that can
be grown in Britain, it requires deep, permanently
moist, humus-rich soil, lots of space and protection
from cold, drying winds. |

Gunnera
Manicata - Chile Rhubarb - 2L Pot |
| This
spectacular garden plant needs plenty of room. It grows
the largest leaves of any plant grown in the open. The
giant leaves can grow to 3 metres across and are big
enough to shelter a man from the rain. Plant in a damp
situation - Gunnera must always have plenty of moisture
available. In spring the great brown cone shaped flower
heads are first to appear, followed by the new leaves
which have a spectacular growth rate. |

Gunnera
Manicata - Chile Rhubarb - 3L Pot |
| Huge,
rhubarb-like, prickly leaves up to 6 ft. across in damp
sites - but it doesn't have to be to grow it! This
Brazilian plant is hardy and will make an imposing
feature. The crowns are best shielded from frost in
winter, we suggest using the leaves of the last year's
growth. But not really an issue when well established.
The new leaves start into growth early in the year. |
