Red Hot Poker - Kniphofia 'Nancy's Red' Red Hot Poker - 'Kniphofia Nancy's Red'
'Nancy's Red' produces bold spikes of coral-red flowers from summer through to autumn and is a little shorter than many cultivars, so is more suitable for smaller gardens. For maximum impact, plant in bold clumps in humus-rich, moist, well-drained soil, against a background of tall ornamental grasses, or as part of an exotic planting scheme. Good in containers, too. An easy and undemanding plant.

One of the hardiest torch lilies, this distinctive cultivar has fully loaded spikes of bright orange-red tubular flowers, standing well above the clumping grass-like foliage.
Red Hot Poker - 'Kniphofia Little Maid' Red Hot Poker - 'Kniphofia Little Maid'
Maid' produces slender spikes of pale yellow tubular flowers fading to ivory above clumps of evergreen, strap-like leaves from August to September. Originally from South Africa, the elegant, torch-like flowers of kniphofia make vertical accents in a sunny border and look particularly good as part of a scheme based on 'hot' colours.
Red Hot Poker - 'Kniphofia citrina' Red Hot Poker - 'Kniphofia citrina'
Slender spikes of golden yellow flowers from August to September above clumps of grass-like leaves. These tall torch-like flowers are ideal for providing vertical interest in a sunny mixed or herbaceous border. Performing best in fertile, moist but well-drained soil, it associates well with ornamental grasses and late-summer flowering perennials.

This genus has to be amongst the top 3 associated with South African flora. This "Red Hot Poker" has good, strong flowering stems with flowers which come out in June to September and blush from orange-red to creamy-yellow at the flower base. Ideal to use as a structure plant in the bed, border or large container. Prefers full sun, or partial shade with free-draining soil or compost. Growing to a height of around 70cms.
