Alchemilla mollis - Lady's mantle |

garden should be without this beautiful and useful
perennial. It has scalloped, bright green leaves which
catch droplets of water that look like quicksilver and
from June to September, it produces a frothy haze of
tiny, chartreuse yellow flowers. Its ideal planted
en-masse for groundcover or edging paths, it tolerates a
range of adverse conditions including heavy clay and,
once established, is drought tolerant. |

| This rather lovely plants is so accommodating, it copes with most soils and will seed itself around.
Cymes of yellowish-green flowers from June to September, that are good for cutting, up to 30cm high.
The bluish-green leaves are softly hairy which hold drops of water. Also a great ground cover plant. |

neat, compact clumps of bluish-green leaves, which have
notched edges and may take on a red flush when grown in
full sun. The yellow-green flowers appear in small
clusters from late spring and take on russet tones as
they age. Often considered to be a better behaved
version of A. mollis, this marvellous and easy to grow
plant provides a long period of interest at the front of
the border. |
