Sedum is a large genus of flowering,
leaf succulent plants available in annuals, creeping herbs and
shrubs. Certain varieties are cold hardy whilst others are not but
on the whole they are very hardy and low maintenance making them the
perfect plant for beginners. Sedum plants have been known as the
preferred choice over grass for roof coverings. |

| It is easy to be taken in by the
starry characteristics of these plants but be sure when choosing a
variety it is the one that suits your needs. Available in large
plants for a border, rockery plants and rampant growers you need to
be sure of the correct choice for your garden. |
| Sedum is tolerant of all soil types
making it the perfect choice for areas in your garden you may be
struggling with, ensure the area is well drained and positioned
preferably in full sun. Sedum is easily propagated by division in
spring and will flower pink, red, green, golden or yellow in autumn
with dark green foliage in autumn, spring and summer. If kept pruned
at 8 inches tall it is possible to produce more flowers as the plant
swells. |
| Sedum cuttings can also be turned
into houseplants that look stunning and require little maintenance
just be careful not to overwater them during the dormant
period. |
