After
training and working as a rose and pinks nurseryman
and gardener, Toby completed a two-year HND in
Landscape and Amenity at Hadlow. He went on to work
at the Botanic Garden in Cambridge and has since
scooped a string of awards for his designs including
the gold medal and Best in Show for his Ethical
Garden at Gardeners’ World Live. |
| Toby lives near the coast in Devon with his wife Lisa and three young children. He gardens on a terraced south-facing slope and keeps an allotment in a nearby village where he grows as much of the family's fruit and veg as possible. |
| "Since moving back to my home county of Devon six years ago it's taken a while to work out what to do with my sloping plot. Finally the demolition of an old stone wall nearby has given me and Lisa both the plan and most of the materials to build it into a series of terraced borders. " |
| Toby
was the lead presenter of BBC's Gardeners' World for two
years, 2010 and 2011. |
