The HESCO Garden
The HESCO Garden
Sponsored by: HESCO Bastion Ltd - Designed by: Leeds City Council - Built by: Leeds City Council

The HESCO Garden has been designed to draw attention to the importance of water power in the industrial evolution of Leeds. There are two working examples in Leeds today, the Armley Industrial Museum and Thwaite Mill. The garden has a semi-natural setting and incorporates cultivated ornamental trees, shrubs and perennials. Native species are used to the front and left of the garden. The main feature has been inspired by a mill. A six metre fašade is set amidst a rockwork escarpment, complete with a stream that feeds a working water wheel. The planting scheme has a sympathetic and attractive balance of colour and texture.
