The Journey Garden
The Journey Garden
Designers: Alison Ryan, Jane McNeela / Sponsor: Lancashire County Council / Contractor: MMC Construction

This garden is sponsored by Key, a registered charity committed to preventing youth homelessness, in partnership with Lancashire County Council's Young People's Service. The garden represents the journey undertaken by a homeless young person who is trying to find somewhere to live and get their life back on track. Problems are symbolised by a series of paths that form a maze, leading to a seating area where issues can be discussed and solutions found. Colour-themed beds show the negative and positive emotions experienced on this journey. Young people from Key and Lancashire County Council Young People's Service have been involved in the construction of this garden.
